A two-day teaching lectures series after the symposium

(nota bene: open to everyone)

After the symposium, a series of lectures will be given at the Free University on Monday and Tuesday, June 6-7, 2005. The lectures form part of an intensive Master course of two weeks that can be taken by students with a University Bachelor degree.

Importantly, the above-mentioned two-day lectures series is open to everyone (students and non-students) with an interest in the topics of 'the philosophy of systems biology'. Some of the lectures will be given by speakers of the symposium who will act as teachers and present their work in an educational format suited for University Bachelors. All lectures will be in English. Details on the two-day teaching lectures series will follow as soon as possible and will be accessible through this website (http://www.systembiology.net/philosophy/; click on the Teaching lectures-button and then go to the Additional information-box).

Additional information:

Freely accessible to everyone interested; however, please send an Email to fred.boogerd@falw.vu.nl if you would like to attend the teaching lectures series.

Ten national and international lecturers will discuss several themes related to the Philosophy of (Systems) Biology at the level of Master students. In total 16 lectures of 40 minutes, including discussion, will be presented; 8 on Monday (June 6) and another 8 on Tuesday (June 7), each day from 9.00 to 17.00.
